Your footage, your choice
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how SwiftCut handles information when you use the SwiftCut iPhone app or this website. SwiftCut is designed as a local video editor: your editing projects and imported media are kept on your device and are not uploaded to SwiftCut servers.
2. Information handled on your device
To provide editing features, SwiftCut may access and store locally:
- Videos and photos you choose from your Photos library
- Audio you import or record in the App
- Project settings, edits, captions, text, overlays, thumbnails, and audio caches
- Exported videos that you choose to save to Photos
This information is used to perform the edit and is not sent to a SwiftCut-operated cloud account or media library.
3. Permissions
SwiftCut requests access only when a feature needs it. Photos access lets you choose source videos and save exported videos. Microphone access lets you record a voiceover. Speech recognition access lets you generate captions from audio.
Auto Captions use Apple’s Speech framework. Availability and processing behavior can depend on your device, language, and system settings. SwiftCut does not operate a separate speech-processing server.
4. Purchases
If you buy a SwiftCut subscription, Apple processes the payment and provides the App with the subscription status needed to unlock the purchased features. SwiftCut does not receive your full payment card details. Apple’s privacy policy and App Store terms also apply.
5. Information we do not require
SwiftCut does not require an account, profile, contact list, location, or social login. We do not use your imported media to build an advertising profile. This static website does not intentionally use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
If you contact support, we receive the email address and other information you choose to include so that we can respond.
6. Retention and deletion
Your projects and local media remain on your device until you delete them in SwiftCut, remove the App, or manage the related files through iOS. Exported videos saved to Photos are controlled by you and iOS.
If you email support, we keep the conversation only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, provide support, or meet legal obligations.
7. Security
SwiftCut uses the storage and permission controls provided by iOS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit the information we collect and keep the core editing workflow local.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy when the App or its data practices change. The latest version will be posted on this page with a new revision date.
